Yet another former colleague has died too young. I worked with H. Mason (Mase) Sizemore at The Times back in the late ’60s when I was a reporter and he was an editor, just a step along the way for him, on his way to becoming president of The Times. Do yourself a favor and read Lynda Mapes’ excellent and sensitive obituary of his death at age 76.

Daughter Jill Mansfield emailed the news that there will be two celebrations of her dad’s life. The twin event has been moved to the new date of Sunday, March 18. The first is at 2pm at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church at 2400 NW 85th St. in Seattle, and the second is at 4pm in the Crystal Ballroom of the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle.

Charles J. (Chuck) Dunsire also was a contemporary and friend, with the then-competing Seattle Post-Intelligencer print edition. Click here for the link to his obituary.
