The PPI Association received a total of 100 entries in the 2020 PrintROCKS! competition. That’s down from 187 in 2019 and mirrors the local trend in awards-show participation. And the awards gala, originally scheduled for Oct. 9 in Tacoma, has been rescheduled as a virtual event.
In a letter to PPI members, Executive Director Tammy Weatherly, said, “COVID-19 has already altered so many businesses and lives, and our PrintROCKS! event is no different. In recognition of this, the PPI board has recommended that we change this year’s awards banquet to a virtual ceremony.” She went on to explain that a panel of judges will evaluate all entries in the 27 categories and that all entries fees “will be WAIVED!” She added that there will be a virtual online event for all of the winners at a date to be determined in late September.
