BrandQuery was scheduled to begin the Kenworth Electric Truck film project in March, but it was put on hold, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. And original plans were to shoot the film out of state, but it was determined the best course of action would be to film in Seattle, once conditions allowed.

Here’s principal Jacque Beamer’s explanation of how the challenging project got back on track. “At the end of June, we finalized filming dates for the end of July. We were in constant communication with the City of Seattle Film Department to obtain permits. Their office was technically closed, due to the pandemic, yet we were able to communicate with them through a very helpful representative. Unfortunately, due to the need for Seattle Police assistance at the CHOP protests on Capitol Hill, we were told no permit would be issued. We received the decision on a Wednesday, and filming was to begin on Saturday!

“So I called the City of Tacoma’s Special Events Office, which was very accommodating. By Friday, we had our permit to film in Tacoma, with the Tacoma Police providing the necessary traffic control. We filmed, as scheduled, at our new location in Tacoma on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The three days of filming were much less stressful than the weeks prior, and the client was very satisfied with the product we delivered, which has received excellent feedback.”

The purpose of the three-minute film is to display the power, quiet, range, quick-charge and agility of Kenworth’s new K270E Electric Medium-Duty truck. It’s used at sales meetings, on social media and on the Kenworth’s YouTube channel.
