Digital Kitchen’s Best of Show social-media video for Deschutes Brewery.
DNA paced the field of 2020 ADDY Award winners, followed by Wunderman Thompson/Seattle in second and WONGDOOY and Copacino+Fujikado, tied for third.
Best of Show went to Digital Kitchen for its #ChaseTheHaze social-media campaign for Deschutes Brewery.
A total of 27 entrants won 84 awards, including 25 Gold and 55 Silver ADDYS, plus four Special awards. The 296 entries in this year’s competition is down from the nearly 400 last year, according to the entry committee.
DNA received nine Gold and six Silver ADDYS, along with a Judge’s Choice Special Award. Wunderman Thompson/Seattle won two Gold and eight Silver ADDYs. And Copacino+Fujikado won three Golds and five Silvers, for a total of eight awards, which was matched by WONGDOODY’s two Golds and six Silvers.
Steve Williams, DNA’s executive creative director, said, “We had to celebrate with an all-agency Zoom ‘toast,’ rather than a rowdy night at the ADDYs, but we’ll take it. And the hardware we won for our non-traditional work—from a five-day livestream for Rainier Beer to a crop-art installation in the Palouse for BECU’s WSU sponsorship—was especially rewarding.”
The annual AAF Seattle awards gala scheduled for March 26 was cancelled. A digital edition of the winners’ booklet will be available soon and posted here.
Speaking of cancellations, even the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity was cancelled for 2020 for the first time in its 66-year history. The next edition will be June 21-25, 2021.
Cannes Lions Chairman Phillip Thomas said, “We realize the creative community has other challenges to face and simply isn’t in a position to put forward the work this year that will set the benchmark. The marketing and creative industries, in common with so many others, are currently in turmoil, and it’s clear that we can play our small part by removing all speculation about the festival this year.”
