Mossback’s Northwest: Must-See TV!

Native Northwesterners and newcomers alike will learn a lot from the Mossback’s Northwest series, created by historian, author and raconteur, Knute Berger. For example. who knew that Seattle, Ellensburg and Spokane all suffered devastating fires in the same year (1889) or the name and life story of the Eastern Washingtonian who shaped John Wayne’s movie career?

Mossback’s Northwest is a series of historical shorts about Pacific Northwest and Seattle history, hosted by Berger, and the shorts are enhanced with rare historical footage. They vary in length from three to 10 minutes, with a half-hour Special each year. All four seasons are available at KCTS9.org, Crosscut.com, and YouTube and is aired at regular intervals on KCTS9  throughout the year. Season 5 is in development for later in 2021.
