Since 2009, MARKETING has been inducting leaders in the marcomm community into the pantheon of MARKETING IMMORTALS, based on their career accomplishments. The eight categories include Advertising, Public Relations, Design, Direct Marketing, Film/Video/Audio, Graphic Arts, Media and Corporate/Client. The total of inductees now stands at 67.

As stated in the Welcome message on www.marketingimmortals.com, “The intent of this Website is to preserve the memories of those who have contributed so much to these various fields of endeavor, as we know them today and as they will evolve in the future. Besides ‘immortalizing’ the work of those who have gone before, the site also is intended to inform current practitioners of the legacies upon which their work is founded and to have significant educational and historical value.”

We revisit a different MARKETING IMMORTAL each week. This week’s featured IMMORTAL is the always-entertaining Pat Cashman. Here’s his update, replete with the wit and humor you’ve come to expect from Pat:

“While I still trod much of Western Washington—giving speeches, auctioneering, writing and voicing commercials and performing mime—I’m living much of the rest of the time in a place called Sunriver, Oregon—which boasts both sun and river. It’s near the town of Bend, where I grew up (part of the way).  Before arriving last year, I had not set foot in Bend for more than 35 years—which seems unusually long for a restraining order. But I’ve spent most of my life in Washington state—it’s home—and I vow to never, ever root for the Ducks, Beavers or Trailblazers. I DO root for actual ducks, beavers and trailblazers—just not teams with those names. And I play more golf than usual. Golf is a sport that combines several things I love to do: Swing, swim and spend time in the woods.” Here’s Pat’s IMMORTALS bio and commentary.
